Who's to blame for these increasing tv costs?

Its not the top package either.
And you can't change the package at all.
Its the $60 package, and the minute you downgrade or upgrade its gone.
And the offer is a limited time offer.

So? This thread is about out of control pricing and this might be a good deal for some people. Just trying to help

Directv has far more out of control pricing than anything Dishnetwork does .
Help would be talking them out of AT&T and Directv...
Sling is also giving away Various Steaming devices, Including Roku stick for Just 1 month of Prepaid sling tv service.
$25 got me a month of sling Blue and Roku stick.

2 Hopper 6 was not enough. I've used up to 10 at once with Hopper3, enjoyed the 4k Olympics and enjoy the simple Channel 370 access to Netflix 4k. And, I like my USB3 RAID EHD. Enjoy your primitive set up!

To each their own. If you need it, you need it. I, for one, do enjoy my "primitive" set up and the $15+ dollars a month it saves me

I'm just curious, not bashing anyone. How does one have time to watch all those shows recorded with 16 tuners, or 6 tuners, or whatever?
I have a family of 4. My lady loves TLC, I watch sports, my youngest watches cartoons and my oldest watches Disney. We each record and watch throughout the different rooms, so we can easily use 6-10 tuners at any given time and still watch all the programs. It's not just one single individual.

Our family of 4, on some nights I could see us using 6 or 7 Tuners.
But thats probably the worst case.
Normally we are only running maybe 3 or 4 depending if someone is Netflixing ,Ondemanding or Watching a recording.
Dish with 2 Hoppers 2 are Barely adequate in our house, Mainly because the 6 total tuners aren't in a single box and aren't Full Integration.
Close, But not quite.
But you make it work.

The Roamio was more user friendly with its 6 tuners, because you weren't fighting Joeys (or Minis) on Each Hopper.
And you could add another Roamio, and now each Mini would have 6 tuners between 2 rooms.

PTAT IMO is just another Tie up over Tuners.
The Super Joey was a good concept, But again, short on tuners.

At least now with the H3
The Fact that it has Full integration of all its tuners, You aren't limited to 3 Tuners for 2 rooms like you essentially are forced to do if you have Joeys.

Or you can Pay $48-60 in H2 fees and have a 4 Hoppers lol.
No thanks

16 tuners is overkill I agree, but 6-8 would comfortably serve a family of 4 without drama if its a single server.

But apparently the H3 can do 16, So why limit it?

Yeah I could be watching 4 football games on multiview, have 3 recordings going on at the same time, and the wife is watching TV in another room. That's 8 tuners!

Unfortunately those won't be 4 NFL games. I wish DTV would adapt a multi view. Would be awesome with NFLST. And yes, I know about their game mix channels, but it's not the same as dividing your screen into 4 quadrants and picking any games you choose.

I had to downgrade all the way down to the flex package. Even dropping to the 120 plus, would only save me less than $8 after receiver costs are thrown in the mix.

Depending on Sports and/or Locals needs I consider the Flex Pack better than the Top 120+.
