It seems there are many people on a few forums I view that get left with a 1000.2 thats not properly peaked on 110/119/129.

Whos at fault here in your opinion?

E* for making it so complicated to get a decent SS?

The installers for being in a hurry?

I feel it falls back on E*. They should have either made the 1000.2 much larger (like the D* AT9/Slimline) or started installing a D500 on 110/119 and a D300/500 on 129 like many of us have now.

The know that many installers are on a time frame and in a hurry, making something complicated just means things wont get handled right.

This doesnt really matter, because its not going to change right now, but Ive seen so many lately that I wanted to see how everybody else felt about it.

Dish Network for putting a POS at 129. Echostar 5 is just about to die and they put HD content on that piece of junk.

Also, depending on your location the signal strength for 129 change dramatically. So the installers need to spend a long time trying to peak 129 when there's not much they can do down here. The problem is up there.

Thats right, people on the west coast (correct?) have a hell of a time with 129. Or is it they cant get 61.5?

I just did the DIU for MPEG4 conversion where I replaced two 301's and an 811 for a 622 and 211. They installed a dish 1000.2 but left my 500 dish and 300 dish in place. Though, they took my DP Twin off the 500, but left the 300 DP dual.

Installer came and had a hard time aligning the dish. It would have helped if he had a good working meter. He had one but the F-Connector where he hooked up the jumper cable was bad, and he basically had to hold the coax in the connector so the meter would work. Sheesh. Anyway, he peaked it on 119, and then detuned 119 a bit to bring up 129. Readings on 119 were in the upper 80s to lower 90s, with 129 varying in strength from the upper 60s to around 80.

Since they left the 61.5 LNB, I just connected it to the LNB in on the 1000.2 and everything is OK. From what I can tell, the 622 and 211 have been preferring to use the 61.5 location over the 129.
