The PC, the connection to the net, the IT help to maintain it all, the work to maintain the blacklist - making sure "you people" don't stumble into something, fighting viral & worm attacks thanks to your uneducated surfing, etc. It all adds up. People that do not know anything past their own job, always forget about the behind the scenes and what all goes on when they are off the clock. Hilarious, this thread really has died. The lack of common sense in the US (yes I live here too) is so funny. We all want this idiot proofed for personal use.

I did not realize that you could "turn off" the avatars. If I did, I would have taken that option.

Believe me, I am not saying where I work is a freaking animal house of internet actvivity. All I am saying is, a little personal web access seems to recharge people a bit.
Now everyone is heavily restricted yes, but they can read the news or check personal email on their breaks. Only a priveledged few can DL or UL anything through the network. The worst is the pesonal email, but since it is only web based that is allowed and most webmail check their stuff already for baddies and we restrict pretty much everyone from installing or running programs that are not on the approved Group Policy list we have in my 3 years at my site, never had one malicious code problem.
I was gonna head off a while ago, but this got even more interesting.

Since work has been brought up, I will say that the avatar in question would be in violation of our Sexual Harassment Policies. Knowingly bringing in such material (if viewed by someone else who wanted to get me in trouble) could lead to disciplinary action, up to termination. It's nice to know that if I ever need to, I can turn off the avatars while away from home.
As much as I enjoyed Puro's avatars I have to side with the moral majority on this one, because the site is open to people of all ages and its implied format is for television and that the only place on the site that there is a warning wich is the backroom that implies to anyone visiting that they should expect to find the site to be safe for any age and any enviroment that they are in. I'm still on the fence as to what effects these images have on our society as a whole considering that countries outside of the united states seem to treat partial and or full nudity in public forums as every day aspects of life while we still cling archaic puritan idea's from our own dark ages.
