Channels we'd like to see "by the end of the year":
FX HD
Spike HD
Fox News HD
Fox Business HD
Nickelodeon HD
BBC America HD
Comedy Central HD
MTV HD
CMT HD
VH1 HD
BET HD
IFC HD
E! HD
AMC HD
Outdoor HD
ESPN U HD
Speed HD

I'm pretty sure most of these channels either exist already or advertise an HD launch in 2008, so Dish could easily add them by December, thus helping them get to their promised "150+ National HD channels by the end of the year!"

Also, more HD locals! I'm moving from one DMA with no current or planned HD locals (Champaign, IL) to another (Charleston, SC) in about 3 months. The kicker? D* is advertising that BOTH these DMAs will soon have HD locals. Way to drop the ball, E*!

I wish Dish would add the Gospel Music Channel. It's looks great on DirecTV. The production values are awesome. And yes, they actually show videos and concerts unlike many mainstream music video networks. They have a good mix of all styles of Gospel music including pop, rock, country, southern, urban, and traditional.

The down side is they do air commercials but the plus side is there are no TV preachers begging for money to stay on the air so they can beg for more money.

This channel would add a lot of value to the Dish Family package as well.

HD Channels I want soon:
FX HD
Spike HD
Nickelodeon HD
BBC America HD
Comedy Central HD (This channel won’t be HD until Jan 2009 but hopefully Dish will add when it gets going)
MTV HD
VH1 HD
IFC HD
E! HD
AMC HD
ESPN U HD

I would like to see more SD TV channels with some decent programming for people like me who could careless about HD TV since I can not see any big difference in HD over SD, not enough worth paying for anyway.

That is COULDNT care less, and you have to be joking. If you cannot tell the big difference between hd and sd, you wasnt watching hd.

TVOne has Roc, one of my favorite programs. LOGO is also on my list. A lot of people are talking about Sordid Lives; I'd like to see it myself. It is interesting that cable channels are starting to do the type of innovation that once was on new networks like FOX and then UPN, then moved to premiums - e.g., Sordid Lives on LOGO, Mad Men on AMC, etc.

When you watch tv like I do, the differences can be VERY obvious -

Retro Television Network would be nice as Cleveland has no affiliate.
:up I would love to have RTN as well. I can't believe there is no affiliate in the NYC DMA!

I hope you aren't driving on the highways. :)

If he really was looking at real HD, I agree.

:up:up I was recently at someones house who had a beautiful HDTV set and it was being fed a piss poor stretched SD signal. I looked down and saw a HD cable box and they had it hooked up with a composite cable and they thought they were looking at real HD. These people are on my bowling league so the next time I see them I am handing them a set of component cables.

indy hd locals

Dish 1000 & adding 61.5
