Been looking for a link that would tell me which transponders on 72.5 are used for the local channels in Tri-Cities, TN-VA. Appreciate a link or some info if anyone should know. TIA.

These are the only active transponders for D* http://www.lyngsat.com/dtv5.html and here is whats on the satellite. http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa72.html

I'm going to show my ignorance here, but what the heck
Those pages show 68 channels and 16 transponders. How do I know which channels are on which transponders? Thanks for the help.

You CAN'T find out from Lyngsat which channels are on which x-ponders. But you can from certain receivers - if you have a Hughes HAH or HBH series, just switch to a particular channel#, then go into the signal meter - the x-ponder that that last channel you just selected will be the one that initially comes up on the signal meter.
FYI - x-ponders 1-16 are the only ones in use on 72.5
