The networks seem more than willing to shell out top dollar for rights to sporting events and top talent only to recoup those costs by passing the expense on to the viewer. Be it Cable fees and more and more commercial breaks. So when does the consumer finally snap with the price gouging. The more people cut the cord the higher the rates have to go to make up the difference. Will we get to a point where the networks are forced to pay less for their content rights because they can't make it back. We are in a bidding war where they will over pay to make sure the other guy doesn't get the rights. Do they really need to pay so much. Should they let the market set the price instead of just charging more on the back end. I have to think this bubble will burst at some point.
