When will HD Network channels be available?

My first post. Have to work on my icon.

My story is probably an old one...have owned
5 receivers so far (they'll have to pry my 721
from my cold dead hands). I use to love watching
all the network shows 3 hours early (I live in PST land).
Then they went away, then they came back, now
I'm "allowed" Fox and CBS.

I've debated Voom v. 921...neither has won yet.

But what I still have a jones for is HD network channels,
all of 'em, especially east coast. And why can't I
have Las Vegas or Boise or any damm local channels
as long as I'm willing to pay $5? Why are the networks
so greedy, they got $billions of spectrum free from congre$$,
what else do they want to do? Rule the world too?

It has to do with affiliates and the FCC and a bunch of boring crap like that. I'm sure someone will elaborate.
