When will Dish get better at lettting us reecord a whole football game

Or disable PTAT for that day and set up timers like you would with ANY OTHER PROVIDER, or dish receiver.

  • Turn off PTAT and set up a regular timer, possibly missing everything else that it would normally record (and possibly getting shot by my wife when I miss her show because of football).
1) Ask your wife what shows she wants recorded (gasp)
2) Record *everything* manually from the (4) networks. The Hopper can do it with no conflicts too.

The Sunday night game on NBC ran into overtime because of a tie at the games end. PTAT recorded 3 hours and 15 minutes for the game. The recording ended with 20 seconds left in regular time, completely missing the last 20 seconds and the Overtime. Luckily, I was watching the game live.

I found out that if you use the 'red' button on the remote and you "join" a PTAT recording, when the PTAT time ends (typically 11pm EST), it kicks you out of viewing. You can hit the "Live TV" button quickly but you'd better hope you hadn't paused the game or show for even 2-3 minutes while running to the bathroom.

What would happen if DISH drops Viacom?

Netflix goes to black on hopper.
