What are the physical differences between the 522 and the 625?
Are the 522 & 625 using the same software base much like to 501/508/510 share the same?
Is there a different fee structure for the 625?

My understanding is the 625 is the same as the 522 except larger HD to store the Video on Demand (VOD). Should have about the same recording space. But the software should be around the same but different because of the VOD. And the 625 ends up costing $5 more per month to have that service. If you don't want VOD, then don't buy it.

the 626 and 522 have the same hd its just with the 625 dish can autonatically download movies to the 625 it then cost 4.95 to watch a movie dish downloaded for ya

The 522 also has a $5/month fee so the monthly cost is the same. The big difference with the 625 is you either have to pay an extra $20 upgrade fee or commit to 24 months service.
The other big difference is the 522 isn't available for new customers and the 625 isn't available for existing customers. So that pretty much makes the decision for you.

The difference between the 522 and the 625 is actually the hard drive. the 625 will be bigger but you can still only record 100 hours of programing. the reason for the bigger hd is because of the dish-vod. the recv will d-load movies onto the hard drive which will be able to be viewed for up to 24 hrs which then get erased. the 522 might get the software update but it will impact the the time available on the hard drive we still have yet to get the details on it.

Sounds like an excuse to get another $20. With the cost of the larger hard drive probably the same price as the one that was in the 522 its probably just a way to lower their acquisition costs even more.

Probably a combination of bringing in a little money, and a way to clear stock of the 522s. Since the 522s are mostly lease, they probably get returns as people upgrade, leave, or have them repaired.

Caller ID on 522 fails to show number, though phone does...

E* full of it when cancelling?
