ESPN News had a note on their lower right corner last night saying HD version was launching Sunday, I believe.
Directv will not be carrying the channel on sunday. Fios will be however in most markets.

What in 6 out of the 10 markets they only have! Sorry 22 markets ! Real impressive.Directv will not be carrying the channel on sunday. Fios will be however in most markets.
Damn it!!!! Fios beat D*? 10 people will see it before us.......What in 6 out of the 10 markets they only have! Sorry 22 markets ! Real impressive.

Thats OK,
I think we can wait till Wednesday
D* has a good track record of adding channels on Wednesday :up

How do you explain all the ones they dont have then.....Fios adds channels as soon as possible, like all carriers should.
How do you explain all the ones they dont have then.....
And you have proof D* doesnt? So i guess Fios cant even get agreements with the channels they dont have? Why not? Other companies can. I guess they should try harderI don't know, how do you explain the ones directv doesn't have. All carriers no doubt are in constant negotiations with channels, however the difference is fios lets viewers see these channels as soon as agreements are reached, and do not hold them for a later date.

Didnt say that. Apparently Fios hasnt either. All I am saying. If you are going to single them out on adding this ONE channel in a timely manner, ask why they havent on the others. So you think directv has consistently reached agreements with every channel late on tuesday nights? Seems unlikely.

So do you have any thing to back up that they're in negotiations for all the HD channels that D* does have but FIOS doesn't? There's a bunch of channels that D* has that FIOS doesn't have on their list at Verizon | FiOS TV . If it was negotiations why don't they have the Starz channels in HD that D* has while they have the main Starz East channel in HD?
They add stuff as soon as possible, that is what you said. You also said it is what ever provider should do.You lost me.
This is right off the Verizon fios page, unless there are others scattered in the other sections , but this was under the HD section for them, I see NO ESPN (s) No Starz even mentioned.
For that matter I don't see ANY Movie channel listed in HD.
Opps, ESPN was not listed in the HD section, but was listed in the Sports section.
The list is somewhat disorganized if you ask me.
They have LOTS of Movie channels and a few in HD, looks like generally one of each.

Jimbo, the ESPN's are in a sports section, and the movie channels in HD are listed after the section that lists all these movie services SD channels.
Most importantly they lead directv in many markets as far as offering the vital networks in hd- abc, cbs, nbc, fox, cw, pbs, as well as many local channels similiar to those you get in sub channels with OTA.....24 hr local news, weather etc. For example, fios offers 9 local hd channels in providence, directv a whopping 2. These are channels people watch far more than stretch o vision hd national networks and the smithsonian channel.
It wouldnt even be close.Don't you mean in the markets that they actually provide any service at all? I do believe that DirecTV would beat them in TOTAL markets provided, hands down.
