what satellite do i need to work a 322 reciever and a 311 reciever? also, do i need any switches? BTW... i already have the 322 reciever and the seperator for it.
When you order service, Dish will take care of that for you.
Which satellite(s) you use depend upon the programming subscribed to, not the receivers used.
The simplest installation might be a Dish 500 aimed at the satellites at 110 & 119. Since you do not have an HD receiver, you don't need 61.5 or 129. Certain areas need an additional dish for a different satellite for locals, or internationals.
navy is right. The real key is what programming you are trying to receive. What package do you have? And what city are you located in (if you are getting locals)?
i have a dish network account, but i'm looking for a way to get programming while tailgating in my RV.
my current programing is america's top 200 with local channels. i also have silver HD, which i wouldn't mind getting, but not that important. i'm really just interested in getting the local channels. i'm located in Norman, Oklahoma.
You need a dish 500 pointed at 110 and 119. If you want to use it with two tv's in the RV take the 322 receiver and get a dish pro plus duel LNB for the dish.
ok., but i'm looking to get three different channels. two with the 322 and one with a 311. will the 500 with dp plus duel LNB get me that? if not, which way should i go. sorry if i'm driving you guys crazy. i just want to be sure i don't buy the wrong things. i really appreciate the help.
To answer your question, yes the dish 500 with a DP Plus LNB will work with the 322 and the 311 receivers. All you will need are two cables RG6 rated to 3.0GHz (2.25GHZ minimum). Connect each cable to the SAT in on each receiver (leave the seperator connected to the 322 and connect the cable to the input of the seperator). Run each cable to ports 1 and 2 on the LNB on the dish and that will complete the cabling for the system. Do not connect to the "LNB IN" port on the LNB as that is for another satellite location. If you want connect a third receiver, changes would have to be made to the configuration of the system. Hope this helps!
