I found the search function much more useful on the VIP's.

I found the search function a lot more useful on Hopper. Not only can you search the program guide, you can search your recordings as well.

Yes!! You could go up and edit your text entry, now you can't. ALTHOUGH, I do like the "looks like" tiles that come up which mostly precludes the need to type out the whole thing.

Does the Seek and Record have similar options to ViP Dish Pass for exact match, title vs. info, channel search etc?

I'm not the Hopper now but yes there are similar options.
