For those of you bashing Vista because of DRM, have you experienced this yourself? Most of the original stories about Vista's performance being lousy just because of DRM have been debunked. There is a pretty decent article here that describes some of it...

The points seem logical that the DRM code in Vista really only gets initiated when you are watching protected content.
I personally don't have Vista at home yet, because I haven't built a new machine for about 4 years and I don't think it's worth it to "upgrade" an existing machine to Vista if you are already running XP. I test with it at the software company I work for, and if I leave all the new graphics options enabled, it is definitely slower then XP. But disabling all of it helps and the performance is close to XP for the apps I test.
