Got a question. I have a Direct TV tivo box in the family room and a regular direct tv box in the bedroom(1) that was working fine until today. Today I got a signal lost on sat 1 and 2. I did the setup again and this is the error I get:

SAT 1 101 (A) Right Side Not Detected
SAT 1 119 (B) Not Detected
SAT 1 110 (C) Not Detected

SAT 2 101 (A) Right Side Not Detected
SAT 2 119 (B) Not Detected
SAT 2 110 (C) Not Detected

Now check this out....the HD box upstairs works fine. The Tivo box in the other bedroom(2) works fine. What could be the problem?? I am lost with this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)

Any multi-switch in the line?

I assume this is a PhaseIII dish?

Have you tried one of the non-working receivers in the location that still works?

Have you tried doing a full reset on any of the receivers?

I am assuming that you have a 4x8 since you have 2 tivos and a HD.
Do what charper said and take the tivo in the other room and try it in the bad room. If its the same its in your cable or multiswitch but prob in cable.;)

Thanks for the info Chapter 1 and The Tate.
My parents have an old 3 X 8 switch. They switched over to the phase III
dish when they installed the HD a couple of months ago. Never changed out the multiswitch.
I havent changed out receivers yet. Will try that this morning.

They have 3 tivos: family room, basement, and den.

HD recv: bedroom 1 (this is connected directly from the dish. Not from multiswitch)

reg recv: bedroom 2
Im thinking it is the multiswitch myself. Since it has never been chanced. But I could be wrong. Thats why I came to you guys!! Thanks again.

That's the problem. To get all three satellites you need a 4x8 or 5x8 (if you need OTA antenna access) multiswitch as the 3x8 multiswitch only accesses the 101 satellite.

This is the type of multiswitch being used:

Eagle Aspen
Model S-2180A-LX
3x8 Multiswitch
40-2050 MHZ

Just did a sat test on the tivo box in the familyroom and basement
101 detected, 110 and 119 not detected on Sat 1 and Sat 2

The tivo box in the upstairs den shows the following:

101, 119, 110 detected on sat 2

101 detected....and 119, 110 not detected on sat 1
(This tivo box sat 2 connection is coming directly from the dish. and the sat 1
connection is coming from the multiswitch. )

Looks like the multiswitch to me. If I am right please let me know. Thanks

And all 4 lines from phase III dish have to go into the multiswitch so all receivers can access all 3 sats.

Thanks for adding that, frogg. I usually mention it, but I guess I wasn't all that awake this morning!
