There is probably something in the archives but I get lost in there and read what I was not looking for! While hunting for BUDs I ended up stumbling on mostly DISH and some DIRECTV dishes. I threw them in the barn but I am getting quite a pile! Most are the ole 18" rounds. I know people put the linear LNBFs on them and use them on their farms. What satellites can be picked up with the little dishes??? I know that most recommend 30" or larger for FTA but some are using the little guys. I am in northwest PA and figured that location has something to do with it too. I am hoping I can save some time by asking what works instead of all trial and error! Currently I have my FTA receivers slaved to my DSR922 on a 10' BUD.

the little dishes "as is" can get the few freebies on Dish Network & Bell ExpressVu
Dish...61.5,110,119,129,148
Bell....82 & 91

not alot on them. 119 has the "best" of the bunch with NASA and Angel One. Most of the rest have preview channels like what is on the Dish PPV channels etc or the "you have a dish pointed at ____" screen

some have modified a KU LNB on a 18" dish and could get the uber strong things out there. Examples were AMC6, Ohio News on H2, Doc Scott when he was on G26, CCTV on G3

Here are some pics of what I did for AMC6 & G3

dang, iceberg, i was trying to save you the trouble of typing all that again... :)

no biggie...but I really need to update that list...there have been some additions like the ever popular "this is how to change your smartcard in your receiver" video thats on 61.5,110,119,148 :)

Thanks :)

the LNB holder broke. Its an old KU LNB holder when Bell ExpressVu was KU back in the day so thats why the duct tape comes into play

Thanks! I think I can use a couple of the little things! I was hoping to be able to pull in a few more birds. Can the eliptical dishes receive more FTA??? I do have a lead on a Primestar and some kind of over 30" round dish which I think I can use quite easily!

any dish over 30" will work just fine

if its under it may be a hassle unless you want a specific (high powered) channel. I know folks who used an old DirecTv Phase II (key word is Phase II...these had the 3 removable LNB's and not the 3 LNB all in one setup) on 101 for 3 ABN (3 Angels) or at the time KUIL Fox Beaumont (hey, I was one of those folks) ;)

Its the one in the middle...the outside ones were for 110 (when I subbed to Dish) and 91 (when they had the audio channels free)
