What about the Lifetime for Real Women channel?

I had Lifetime Real Women on cable, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be then, just a lot of nothing and repeats. I just picture Charlie up there on his throne wondering why we would need another woman channel when Lifetime is already there.....but me-I am a channel junkie, I want ALL that is out there whether I watch it or not!!!
I'll sit quiety and read while my wife watches Lifetime and LMN, but I draw the line on Lifetime Real Women...even my wife didn't like it when it was on VOOM. Anyway, I noticed some episodes of Unsolved Mysteries are available on DVD...is this show carried by any other cable or broadcast networks?
If you have StarChoice from Canada, it is on their 'Mystery' channel. That is the only other place I have seen it.
Yep, it looks like Unsolved Mysteries is on several times per day, and at various times, on StarChoice channels 595. It's too bad I don't subscribe to that channel or you could watch it via my Slingbox.
I hate to say this--but I think I will count up the number of outdoor, adventure, sports, sports-oriented, men channels, I think they will F A R outnumber the women channels. But Charlie's a man and he's in charge of DISH, so just wish a woman could take his place. I think there is overlap--but it doesn't sound like many men watch Lifetime.
How many repeats of a long dead show can you watch? My grandmother used to watch life time and she watched unsolved mysteries, after the 15th episode where the guy gets dumped in the smelter in ohio I blocked the channel for a few weeks so she could see that there was other stuff and I could have some sanity.
I watch Lifetime all the time...certainly not by choice, but at least I can sit next to my wife with SatGuys on a laptop. I'm all for more womens programming on E*, as long as the channels aren't subsidized by other programming subscriptions, but a bigger crime, in my opinion, is having to pay for programming you don't watch (i.e. several dollars for the ESPNs in the basic lineup for people who don't even watch sports).
A la carte is a la smarte!!! Let's pay for the programming we watch, let 50% of the subsidized "garbage" channels go away if they can't find a business model for their continued existence. They are only wasting bandwidth so let us enjoy better programming and higher picture quality as well. A la carte may not save us any money, but I would rather pay for for the programming I wish to receive, and not one red cent to the other fluff. Consumers should at least have more programming packages to chose from and more a la carte options.
Is this a new channel? The post talks about it being moved - like now only available in the two packages.
Lifetime Real Woman (LRW) has been around awhile...however, it was never carried by Dish Network and it was probably one of the main reasons for the E*/LifetimeTV dispute in January 2006 when the Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network channels disappeared from the lineup for a month.
LRW used to be carried by the defunct VOOM DBS, however it is not offered on Dish Network...nor too many other providers by my estimate (it's not on Adelphia, Comcast or other cable networks), but it is being offered on DirecTV. Bookwalk is a former VOOM subscriber and would like to have the channel added to the Dish Network lineup since they are the only channel carrying the Unsolved Mysteries show.

I did look into these DVD's--but I don't think they cover ALL the episodes. I used to get it with C-band satellite. I think it's just C-band and Direct TV now, as mentioned above. If Lifetime hadn't switched it to LRW, we could still be seeing it. BUt it seems they are using this as a ploy for promoting LRW--otherwise probably no other redeeming programming, but I wouldn't know as I have never seen it.
I think Unsolved Mysteries should be available to be picked up by other channels--such as Sleuth or Reality or something.
