Being an avid NBA fanatic, I regularly purchase NBA League Pass to see almost every game every night. So I am randomly changing channels and I noticed the regional sports stations the games air on if in that area aren’t blacked out and are playing the same telecasts as LP is at the same time. I never noticed this before as I just tape LP. Does anyone know if this is a fluke or is the free preview of LP right now doing something or is there some kinda promo where I actually get those regional sports channels as well?

I like having it this way. It makes me wonder why they even separate the NBA LP (and other packages) games to separate channels. I would rather have the games on the "real" channels anyway. Just make a -1 alt for feeds of channels they don't have (TSN, CBC, CSN Philly, etc) for those games. The only package we have is Sunday Ticket and I understand why they'd need separate channels for that.

I think they are unlocked. I have the LP and watch FSN Houston(678-1 HD) for all my rockets games each night they are on. Been doing this past 2 seasons.

I've been subscribing to League Pass and Extra Innings since 2000 and I'm almost certain that the normal channels they are on in the 600's with the RSN's were always unblocked in addition to getting the feed in the 700's in the League Pass and Extra Innings feed. The only difference now is that you used to only get one teams feed as opposed to both teams feed, I used to hate that. There was nothing worse than being forced to watch the Red Sox feed of Yankees/Red Sox when my Yanks were playing our bitter rival.

I get both the NHL and MLB packages, and having the regional sports nets "unlocked" really enhances the experience. Makes me wonder why they don't advertise it that way to encourage more sports pack subscribers, or offer a package deal if you order sports pack and one of the other sports packages. Seems like a marketing match made in heaven.

So you would rather have to go searching for a game than have all the games together in a nice neat mux of channels that you can easily scroll through? Hmmm.

It's not that hard to search using the "scoreguide" feature... But, what is nice is that even if you are watching the cluster of channels for whatever sport, the feed doesn't cut out as soon as the game is over.. you can still watch the post game, etc.. Usually pregame stuff is also open 30-60 minutes prior as well.
