Week 4 NFL Schedule

you can still enjoy them no? now when the pats don't go back to the SB for 20 years you'll look back at this decade we live in know and you'll be happy that you lived it and enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with a little reminiscing. :)

No, I would be more concerned with why my team was the laughing stock of the league.

That's just how you measure their record. I'd never apply "greatness" to the Raiders. Al Davis ruined that phrase for the Raiders with his "Just win, Baby" philosophy. Fair play and honor come into play when "greatness" is applied.

Gimme a break...like no OTHER team played dirty. The Raiders did NOT invent nor perfect playing dirty. Get over it! I have have no shame in saying the Raiders WERE great...just like you should have no shame in admiting the Bolts NEVER WERE....

Most of us in Detroit aren't old enough to remember the 50's. I was born 2 days before the last Lions championship, Dec 27, 1957.

i understand your point but that doesn't mean you can't think about what you once had and feel good about that. some teams have barely ever made the playoffs and some have never been to a superbowl.

The TEAM is not the laughing stock of the league...The OWNERSHIP/coacing situation is. Any OTHER team with this kind of mess would have collapsed and would have quit playing.

The team, after the 1st game a$$ whippin' has shown plenty of heart, but short on talent overall.

But it's ok....the overall collapse will be coming your way soon.;)

in that case that's way to long. wasn't 1957 before the 1st superbowl? I'm talking about a time that you lived not something you've heard of or read about

Never mind him...he's pist because his team is SUPPOSE to be a playoff contender and they just had their lunch handed to them unexpectedly by a team that only won one game and according to their media, their fans and most of the world....the Dolphins should not have been breathing the same air as they do.

i disagree with you a little bit on this. For example about 13 years ago i remember a game with miami against the raiders and the raider's db's kept kneeing our wr in the groin after almost every catch. I couldn't believe how dirty the D for the raiders was playing that day. another team i've seen some nasty stuff from their offensive line in the past was the denver broncos. illegal blocks and a lot of kneeing and elbowing. i do agree with you on one thing. The raiders aren't the only team to have played dirty in the past. and i don't see that dirty playing from the raiders today so i think it's something that's history.

Keep telling yourself those things, whatever helps you through another 4-12 season. I had to laugh, like many others, that they were up 15-0 ands managed to lose by 10.

i agree. i don't think the raiders are a laughing stock either. one team that is competing for that spot is the rams

i don't think it was funny. i think it was a sign of bad coaching and adjustments for the second half. i hope i get a 4-12 season here in miami. it's still more than 1 :)

Regardless of HOW hard you laugh....nothing comes close to how much EVERYONE that follows football laughed when you lost to Miami.

So you keep telling YOURSELF that...;)

I think all the opposing coaches all got together and decided to spot the Raiders 15 points per game, then make a big 4th quarter comeback, just to make it interesting. :D

I know they did, they deserved what ever kind of reaction they got from losing to the Dolphins in the way they did. Laughing, booing whatever.

There is NO DOUBT the Raiders played dirty....but so did the Steelers, the Broncos and EVERY NFL TEAM that played...because back then, you could get away with just about anything...and EVERYONE...EVERYONE did.

What? Football didn't exist before the Super Bowl?
My point was that in Detroit, we don't have anything recent NFL-wise to remember, and get all warm-hearted and gooshy about. For that matter neither do you. It's been a long time since the Dolphins mattered. Even if we had a period of success, (we have in other sports), this is Detroit, and we don't have time for trips down memory road. We got work to do, and cars to build.:D
