Weather Effects!

Does weather like thunderstorms,snowstorms etc effect you only when its on top of you!or if bad weather is say 25 miles to your south when looking at a southern sat.
 
a dark heavy cloud cover to the south will kill a sat signal quicker than rain will

The other day it was pouring out and I had both KU & DBS working fine. I've also had where we had no rain but south of us were dark clouds and the signal went kaput

The dark heavy cloud cover the signal cannot penetrate through.

C-Band is mainly exempt from this due to the long wavelength of C_Band
