weak transponder on 123W

2 part question if you dont' mind
firstly, on 123w why is tp 11800 so much stronger that 11720?
At night I can't watch the channels on tp 11720 usually although 11800 is usually ok, signal quality in the low 30's at least whereas 1170 is about 26-29!
Secondly, is the NBA TV ch. on 110w really FTA? I haven't been able to grab it.
Lynsats has it free but not ftalist.com.

Those signal levels for both transponders are on the low side. Maybe a re-peak of you dish is needed?

NBA is not FTA...scrambled a while back

and yes the G18 stuff is much higher signal than what you have right now. Both mine are between 70-73 on the Coolsat 5000

Sounds like you need a retweak of the dish

This bird is so crazy! two o three weeks ago, I was crying because the tp 11800 was very weak and the 11720 strong enough.

So, Im learning to live with that performance, its free, no?

yeah I figured it (NBA TV) sounded too good to be true, it was such an anomaly compared to the other few free echostar chs. and I guess I could try and tweak the dish, it's motorized and took quite a bit just to get the birds that I wanted in, right now the only weakness it the 11720 and actually research and Univ. wash. is underperforming at times, was hoping the the tp. might strengthen on their own, it;s funny the ABC from Wyoming comes in great, low 50's sig quality.

From time to time, you'll find a premium channel or two (or more) in the clear on the DBS satellites. Sometimes it even lasts for a while, especially when it is not discussed too much Good reason for a QPH-031...

I am getting in PR with a 4 foot dish 11720 about 55 quality and 80 signal
and 11800 64 quality signal 87

Mine went down on the Primestar dish big time....wonder if my dish has moved (we've had some big winds latelly)
