Well I have finally found a decent 10ft dish as some of you already know. It seems to be a Winegard Quadstar 10FT.
Seller is about 4.1 miles away from my house so it couldn't be any more convenient. I will be picking it up this weekend as long as it doesn't rain ( whatttt Southern California actually gets rain??? )))) :D:D:D

Some pics here that I have posted in another thread but now they are here on my own.

And here are some pics of a Pole I am getting for free from a guy who is currently in Germany. Its aproxx 15ft long and he used to have a 10FT dish on it many years ago so he says. Its bolted to the ground and it has a roof bracket to keep it from swinging. Its free as long as I remove it w/o damaging his concrete floor and roof and patch the holes in the cement.

You know, that's close enough to your house that IF you can find some way to pluck the dish WHOLE from his pole, and put it back on your pole and aim it at the same sat it's parked on now, you may get away with it... At least it may save you a lot of major tweaking, and only need some tiny tweaking. That is if it's setup properly right now. I suggest a large trailer, and maybe even mount a temporary pole mount in the center so you can put the dish on it. Make note of where the elevation bolt is right now, and loosen the nuts to set the dish more vertical while you are carefully hauling it home. Use lots of strapping, and drive dead SLOW! Wind is your enemy. NEVER underestimate how easy something that's not tied down tightly can fly right up and out of a trailer when it catches a bit of air!!!

Buy a small tub of "Hydraulic Cement" and use it to patch the cement holes for that pole. It's basically an epoxy, and it's your easiest option. You might consider slightly under-cutting the holes with a small chisel and hammer, sort of an upside-down cone shape. Smaller at the opening on top, and belling out at the bottom. That'll be better for holding it permanently. Leave it rounded at the top a hair above the level cement pad. That way water won't sit there, and if he later decides to file it down a bit, it'll be his issue.

I sure like your idea, the problem is that this guys house is in the hills so the dish is actually located in alot of dirt and soil and a slant. Plus the seller made it clear that he wants the "pole" to remain there as he has plans for it. He lives in a secluded Estate that has 2 guards to get passed by

I didn't say to pull the pole, just to pull the dish with polar mount off the pole in one bolted-together piece, and get it to your house that way, and plop it on your waiting pole. Otherwise you have to pull everything apart, which means all that work, PLUS putting it back together again at your house.

If you can figure a way to do it, it's a big time saver for you, and a lot less hassle.

got it.

OK picked it up this morning. Took about an hour or so not too bad. Had to take it apart because the house has tennis courts and the fence itself going thru it was narrow and not taller then 7ft.
So no choice but to take the panels apart into 8 slices. For now its sitting in the side of the house until I get the pole. Also was able to get it for 50 bones out the door. Not bad deal afterall considering the ad has an asking price of $200.00 but included an analog chaparral receiver which I did not need/want. Panels look dirty but will be cleaned up by pressure water hose and proper cleaning solution soon.

Also on the way back I spotted what looks to be another 10FT Pinnacle that looks not to be in use. Left a note to call/text if they want it removed for free. Here are some snaps.
The pole is about 5 feet tall so it could be another easy removal. This dish is about 1 mile from my house too.

Also, there's a complete scanned manual here for that Winegard dish, which will help you on reassembly. The panels mate together in a particular way, and you use a roll-pin through the holes temporarily to make sure it's lined up perfectly, and then pull out the pin and insert a bolt. As you put on new panels, you keep moving to the LEFT side of the previous panels.

I marked them by numbers to know which go which way. Makes it alot easier.

congratulations!

Wow, for a guy who couldn't find a decent dish to save his life...
...and now you find two Pinnacles within 5 miles of home!!??
Well, that's the way it happens sometimes.
(it was for me, too)
.
Plenty of good info on the forum about them, so you're in fine company. :up ;)

yeap but the 2nd pinnacle has not responded as of yet. Also that pole is mounted on cement so it can be removed easily.

In negotiations with the 2nd 10ft dish. Looks good and probably will bring it home.

owner been difficult on the price. Looks like it will be a no go
