Hello all,
Last night I wanted to watch an MPEG4 or WMV file (I can't remember which) on my TV. I usually just use the TV's USB port and it works fine. But out of curiosity I plugged it into the front of the H3 and it said that the drive must be formated to work with the Hopper. Obviously I didn't do it as I didn't want to lose my files from that drive. But if I did and then went to put MPEG4 and other files on it would I be able to play them through the H3? The reason I ask is because I have the H3 going directly into a sound bar system and my TV does not. I guess I could also just add an input from the the TV to the sound bar.

Thanks,
gIslands.

It sounds like it was trying to use the drive as an external hard drive for your your Hopper's DVR recordings and not play your files from the drive.
