Was the sound issue with HBO ever fixed?

I had Dish up until a year or so ago, when we ditched it because of ongoing issues with brief sound dropouts/popping/stuttering, mainly on HBO. At the time, I believe there was a long thread discussing the issue (some thought it was related to the use of certain audio receivers; however, I could reproduce the problem using a recorded program fed directly into the TV).

I found an old thread from 2011 that I started on the issue, but the link to the much longer thread that I placed in there for anyone interested now gives a 404 error, which seems odd.

Anyone have any idea what I'm referring to?

The only audio problems I ever encountered with HBO was some popping when levels got loud. That only happened once during a freeview weekend. My last stint with it last fall had no problems.

Haven't had any drop outs in a long time. Never since I got my H/J system.

I know the issue you are speaking of. I used to suffer from occasional split second audio drops as well on HBO. Haven't noticed it in a LONG time.

Same here, very long time HBO subscriber, no ongoing issues.
