I want to add a third receiver to our house, but am unsure of how to do it. Dish says we would have to buy the third receiver at retail cost. Can we just buy it from a third party and activate it throught DISH? Or would it be better to go buy it from DISH?

We currenty have 322C as the primary receiver and a VIP622 as the second. We want to add one that is HD Duo DVR. We want to have the HD option and also be able to add another tv to it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do and what receiver to buy?

:welcome to SatelliteGuys!

Now that we're past 2/1, Dish will lease up to 3 receivers for up to 6 TV outputs. You can still buy your own if you wish, and to go beyond 3 receivers, just call to activate.

A 722k or 722 will get you another DVR at $3/mo more than a 222/222k. The 'k' models with the optional OTA dual-tuner module give TV2 access to OTA, and the 722k can record 2 satellite plus 2 OTA channels at once.

It will supposedly happen automatically, but make sure your 622 gets named as the primary receiver as its fee as an additional receiver is higher than the 322's.

adding 2 receivers but no phone line

Thinking of getting Dish Network....
