Walmart making the move, studios switching, Toshiba dropping, ugh.
And now Netflix switches!
OK, I'm out. Time to go buy a blueray player.
I just broke down entirely and posted this:
$99 HD DVD player so I can buy a blueray instead
NOT A PLUG: I'm not trying to plug my sale.
I'm trying to show how hard it was for me to list it
Anyone know a great deal on a Blueray player
Hitachi,
I beat you to your post, check out Post #10 on the first page of the thread, great minds think alike

Hmmm, my players still work
Not to listen to some they won't MY Quad system got ripped off... still have the tapes and records thoughAnd no one claimed otherwise. My quadrophonic sound system still works too.
Shhh! Stop spreading FUD! HD-DVD is just fine!
You'll be waiting a long time
How so? Don't just make another statement with no back-up. Trend with you.You really are delusional. You know this right?
Your all refering to sales, but manufacturers have not and will not lower MSRP until the 4th quarter. More so, a BD player with all the features of a (price range)HD DVD player will not see the light of day for 18-24 months. By then downloading will be getting ready for primetime so why bother.See the prices on Amazons 3 for 2 sale (even before the free disc) or J&R's sale. Surprisingly low prices for media.
And lots of sales on Hardware.

You missed the point. The topic of my post and the last few post was talking about manufacturers of hardware.Technically, the MSRP on SD DVDs haven't come down all that much either and are still hovering around $30, just no one in their right mind would pay that much unless money is no issue for them. As a matter of fact, if you check Amazon's web site today, the price of the SD version of Blades of Glory [WS] at $25.99 is more than the HD DVD version at $19.99 (for which the MSRP is $39.99!!). Amazon.com: blades of glory
Just one example, the point being MSRPs are almost irrelevant with online shopping and rotating B&M leader sales on newer titles.

Completely different metrics when comparing software.
