I recently dumped D* for Dish Network. Is it possible to use the old D* multi-satellite dish, pointed at 61.5, to get the VOOM channels? The switch I have has three inputs and four outputs, so I assume if the old dish will work, I would need a different switch.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys,

D* & E* dishes and lnbs are interchangable in single satellite configurations. They use different switching schemes, so the hardware for multisat configurations is not compatible.

Directv still uses Legacy frequencies so it is not compatible with Dish Pro and at Legacy frequencies it is not compatible with switches that DISH uses.

The info posted so far is correct as far as it goes.

The V* dish IS compatible with a SW64 switch.

If you are a new E* customer, you likely have DishPro LNBs/switches, and therefore the only piece of the old V* gear that's usable is the mounting arm.

You MAY have a DPPlus LNB which, if all you have from E* is a Dish500, would mean all you need to add is a Dish300/500 with a DP LNB pointed at 61.5 or 129.

hesitate to ask.. 942 occaisonal 'stutter' or frame drop?
