I had Dish come out today to replace what I thought was simply an LNB problem. This was a dish 1000.2 and at least 2 of the 3 LNB's appeared to have broken seals and had water condensation in them. Rather than dealing with my dish, they were able to use another dish nearby but I still had the same signal strength. They tested the signal just before it went into the receiver and it was a good 20 points higher than what the receiver was showing. I ended up getting my 722 receiver replaced with a 722K and then the receiver signal strength seemed to match what the test device was showing.
Is there a difference in how the 722 and 722K measure signal strength or was this a real problem with the receiver? If it was really the receiver, any idea what might have caused a signal degradation with everything else working normally? I'm believing that it was the receiver because I had issues connecting to HD channels with the 722 on the new dish due to signal strength and the 722K worked fine connecting to the same cable.
