ViP622 L4.04 Coming!

I have 4.03 and no problems with rebooting or freezing or screaming.

However, a week ago my Silver Maple finally finished dumping little helicopter seeds into my gutter and the leaves came in. There was new growth that was blocking my LOS to 119 partially. I have timers set for channels on 119 and the box was rebooting regularly trying to pull in that bird. I got out and trimmed up my LOS and my 622 is back to humming along without trouble.

I signed up with Dish at the end of February (VIP622) with ver. 3.66. Had no problems. Then went to 4.01 and started experiencing the OTA lock-up problem. Then went to 4.03 (beta) and still experienced the lock-up problems on OTA. Then got the test software TOA1. Then went to 4.04 and have had no problems with OTA since. I also have a vip211 that has exhibited the same problems with OTA lock-up that my VIP 622 used to. It has done this since day 1.

That's exactly what is happening to me, did you have to call them up to get the update to 4.04?

It's very, very unlikely Dish will push any individual a new software release unless you're part of a beta test. All you can do is be patient and wait. There's a partial release of L4.04 at the moment and if it goes well, they'll push it to everyone else. When ?? No one knows....

Wait for permission from E*.

let's hope it is soon:mad: ...My 622 has constant drop outs on OTA 3.1 and my 211's still do the same thing. Been since March Madness this Sh*t has been going on. I have to pay for the Locals from E* even though they are not HD and I don't watch them, I need them to make my guide and DVR work. It has been months E* GET THIS CRAP FIXED!

Madtown HD you are not alone. I'm in neighboring Verona, experiencing the same thing.

I have recently come to the conclusion that this is NOT an issue with the ViP622 or any other Dish Network related hardware for that matter.

On Thursday May 10th, I picked up a Mother's Day gift (for my wife) at Circuit City. It was a Polaroid (oem'd by god knows what Asian company because my Dish remote won't operate it) 15.4" HD LCD television with integrated ATSC tuner.

I can tell you without a doubt that this television's internal tuner has an identical issue with the digital stream coming from WISC. What I do not know is if the problem is from the local affiliate, or from the CBS Network itself.

I intend to send an e-mail to WISC with my findings. This does not appear to be an issue with the satellite receiver.

Regards,
Spence

i have a ATI HDTV tuner card in my PC and get 3.1 with no dropouts at all. Plus my old D* receiver gets 3.1 OTA no problem.

Never thought about checking my ATI HD Wonder cards! :)

What I can confirm is that the Polaroid's ATSC tuner has the same issue with the local CBS.

In other news, my wife pointed out that the local NBC affiliate had a similar issue and her recording of Martha Stewart was similarly messed up.

I turned on my recording of tonight's Heroes to find that it appeared to have an even larger issue than WISC. I missed a great deal of the show because it kept skipping. I have a contact for NBC15's Engineer and will ask him if they've had any changes or recent issues as WMTV has been stable in the past. I'll shoot him an e-mail and see what's what (probably send you a direct message as I don't want to hijack this thread any further... SORRY GUYS).

For those hoping that perhaps 4.04 will provide some sort of buffer or stability? I'm with ya!
