VIP622 HDD Fauilure

I've been reading your thread about VIP622 w/OTA modual. Maybe you know if the 622 can be replaced with the Hopper or Genie and have the OTA in the Guide like we have with VIP622. Hope I didn't hijack your thread . I have one room with a HDMI HD Vizio and Sharp 12000 that needs component out at the same time ??

My understanding is that the Hopper needs an OTA module too. Once installed locals would be in your guide.

By OTA are you referring to the subchannels and any other ota's that Dish doesn't transmit? You will get at least the big 4 from Dish. As far as football, who said you can't dvr them. I do all the time.

OTA means all the over the air channels you get through an antenna. Some of them, if carried by Dish, you will get the programing schedule in the guide, for others it will just show Digital Service. With the 622 and 612 you could set up manual timers to record these channels. I have mine set to record the ME network, broadcast by the local Atlanta ABC affiliate on Sat nite, for Svengoolie. http://svengoolie.com/ http://metvnetwork.com/
