I know the 612 comes with a remote capable of transmitting both IR and UHF. My question is... does the receiver actually respond to the UHF remote or do you need to have line of sight with the receiver?

I have a TV in the kitchen but no space for the receiver, so I would like it in the next room. I would just run the hdmi or component feed to the TV.

Thanks.

Yes, I just upgraded my 311 to a VIP612. Its in my bedroom underneath the dresser while the tv is on top of the dresser. Put there cause there was no room on top for both. Granted its still in the same room, but there is no line of side while laying in bed.

What's up with Encore HD...

What does "new episodes" mean?
