Hi everyone,

I'm planning on switching out my 2 811's for 2 VIP222's and have been looking at different forum posts on the 222, but I'm not sure that I'm not jumping from the frying pan into the fire, or in other words is the 222 as unstable as the 811?

I'm concerned about the bugs being reported; audio sync, EPG alignment etc. and of particular concern is that one post stated the user was not able to receive OTA HD thru TV1, everything was SD, even though he had HD through his tv tuner, and was not able to receive any OTA signal on TV2. Is there any fact to this or is it just a misunderstanding of the post or just his setup?

Also will the supplied RF remote-control control TV1 or is it just TV2 or can I switch the address to control TV1 or use the 811 RF remotes (8.0 UHF PRO)?

I've finally realized that 811 support will be nil until Mpeg 2 is completely gone.

Thanks in advance

I am on my second 22 and it is a piece of crap, constantly needing to be rebooted, lip sync issues on Voom channels, repeated freezing and needing a reboot, black screen with audio, snowy screen with nothing, and reporting to Dish tech support is like talking to someone in outer space, "thanks for telling us about the problems, we will pass it on to engineering"
The 222 is the worst receiver decision I have ever made

Ok first off a 222 wont replace two 811's. A 222 is HD on TV1 and SD on TV2. The RF remote is for TV2 as it is in a seperate room from the receiver. Although the 222 was buggy at first, mine has been very stable as of late. Have no problems with OTA HD on TV1 with the 222, but OTA is not passed to TV2.

If you want to replace two 811's the 211/411 would be the receivers you want.
