I hooked my vip 722 up via ethernet cable through verizon dsl combo modem and router. Two days later the DSL was inoperable. Verizon said the router modem was bad. Never got the new router to function. Was finally able to make the old router function by restoring the saved modem router configuration file. Is this just a coincidence since modem router is 2 years old or has someone else seen this happen ?

Yes, ever since I hooked my 722 to my Linksys, it gets scrambled about once a month requires either unplug/replug power to router or sometimes factory default and re-program.
I have my 622, 211 and 222 all hooked up to my Linksys router and have noticed the internet seems to get sluggish every once in a while. It has not locked it up yet. I unplugged all the dish boxes about a week ago and it seems the problem went away. I don't think the dish boxes are accessing the net that much, if hardly at all. Wonder how many other people are having this problem?
No don't think that is it. I have the same router at my office with 16 pc's connected to it and no problems. Has to be the dish boxes, it only happens on my network when they are connected.
