VIP 622 and external HDD question

I'd guess my receiver is coming due soon to quitting. About 4 years old I think. If I have to replace it will my recordings on my EHDD be available on the new box or are they gone too?

Your EHD should work on any other HD DVR on your account.

ehd's are keyed to the account, not the receiver. If you upgrade to a Hopper they will still work.
