Video Game Deals

Well the original game I believe did not have DRM (or at least not a strong one), but it had an INSANE piracy rate, which was directly responsible for the INSANE DRM that was implemented with its sequel where it required a constant internet connection at first.

But apparently Ubisoft and GOG have a decent working relationship. A quick glance shows about 44 games on there, including moderately recent ones like Far Cry 2 and Rayman: Origins. Might be worth a look. Quite a few older FPS games along with Tom Clancy stuff.

Here's their list

I forgot to take advantage of the free copy of Plants vs. Zombies on PS4 over the weekend. The theme of that game seemed amusing enough that I would have downloaded it if I got it for free. I don't see myself purchasing it at any price unless it becomes part of a Humble Bundle though.

It appears that the Humble Store has started their Winter Sale, with daily sales and Flash sales (and it would explain why they aren't having a regular Humble Bundle at the moment).

One deal I'd like to highlight is the Alan Wake bundle. For $4 you can get Alan Wake (with DLC) along with Alan Wake's American Nightmare. AW is a VERY underrated game, and the PC port works very well and even includes a cool commentary mode. Great game and worth a look and I doubt you'll find a better price.

Steam is doing a Double Fine sale today. I just picked up Costume Quest for $1.99. There are a few games to pick from at good prices. Broken Age for $8.49 is a nice deal since Act 2 will be released pretty soon.
I'd also HIGHLY recommend Psychonauts for anyone that doesn't have it. $1.99 is a GREAT price for an awesome modern adventure game. It isn't without its flaws (the last level in particular is one of the most frustrating I've ever played) but the charm and imagination of it are too much to ignore and the positives truly outweigh the negatives.

This review sums it up pretty nicely.

PS4 Controller for $39.99 on Newegg

If that's too much, Sears is selling them for $29.99. They may sell out online soon and you may be forced to do in store pickup, but if you got a Sears near you it's worth a shot.

They also have Xbox One controllers for $30, but it is without free shipping.
