Same here. Only watch Comedy Central for South Park, used to only watch Spike/Paramount for Bar Rescue, but I like Yellowstone as well.
BET, MTV, VH1 and all of their subchannels suck! Although I do like that MTV Classic plays music videos, something it didn't do much of the last handful of years as VH1 Classic. I really, really liked MTV Live as MHD when it first launched. TV Land seems like it is nothing but King of Queens and Two and 1/2 Men lately. While I'm not big on classic 50s/60s/70s TV, TV Land was pretty cool when it first launched 'retromercials' and all. As a 80s/90s kid I enjoyed Nickelodeon growing up, TeenNick's The Splat block was recently re-branded to NickRewind and I always thought it should be a full time channel. But just about all of the classic Nick shows I grew up with that I care about I bought on DVD.

Pinwheel was before my time, but I just barley remember Mr. Wizard and You Can't Do That.
I remember watching Mr. Wizard's World probably in reruns at something like 5:30 or 6 in the morning as I was awaiting Adventures of Tintin to come on.

I could be wrong, but, I think much of this thread was people talking about AT&T "black boxing" Viacom's notices. Much of what I read was people not really caring about the bulk of the channels.
I watch some shows on Nick(Spongebob I find it funny), and South park as well on CC, but none of the other channels. I knew this would get taken care of.
Geez, 70? I only watch a handful of TV shows each week, I can't even name that many TV shows that are on now LOL.
Most cable shows on SyFy, AMC, FX or whatever have a season of 10 or 13 episodes. So if you wanted to watch an average of one program a day year round you might have over 30 shows in your to do list. Or more if you don't clear out the series that are finished/canceled.
Yeah, but 90% of those shows are garbage. I don't waste my time watching garbage.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. I imagine most people don't like what you like either. That's why it is a good thing there is so much to choose from, everyone can find something they like.

so people dont have to pay for channels they dont want
yes individual channels would go up, but i think total price would go down
and of course some channels would go away.

also ESPN can maybe ask for about $15/MO MAX don't see them going over the cost of HBO.
thats fine, people that want it would pay for it
but many people would not pay for most of the viacom channels

You will never get alacarte. Quit dreaming. If ESPN was sold separately they'd probably price at more like $30-50/month, because offering it for $15/month would cause their revenue to fall by 60-70% - currently they get $10 from every cable/satellite subscribers who has the channel, even though only about 30% of cable/satellite subscribers describe themselves as sports fans. Even at $50 a month they'd lose billions and be forced into major cost cutting (which would make pro teams less valuable, reduce player salaries etc. which I doubt many of us would feel bad about)
If they went alacarte, 95% of channels would disappear, and most people say "so what, I don't watch 95% of channels" but I'll bet most of you DO watch some at least one niche channel that would be on the chopping block.
What you're getting instead of alacarte is the ability to buy channels in smaller groups. Perfect example, Discovery just announced they made a deal with BBC and will offer streaming of Discovery group and BBC programming soon. Disney will let you stream Disney programming and movies. ESPN will eventually offer a service to stream ESPN sporting events (though I'll bet not all events are included) and if Fox doesn't already have a similar service they will before long.
