Using Dish remote to control Philips DVDR

Hi all,

I have just purchased a Philips DVDR and I wonder if I can use the Dish remote to control this Unit. I would love to be able to change channels, start recording and so on using the Dish remote, basically the same functions you get when you use a VCR. Does anybody know if this is posible and if so how to do so and what codes to use.

I would check www.remotecentral.com but I suspect that it si not supported.

I recently went through this with a Toshiba DVDR and the short answer is no. The long answer is no too.

The codes seem to be a superset of the DVD player codes.
