USC Busted

Might as well chime in, since this has surprisingly gotten no responses so far.

I am not surprised this happened.

It's basketball , not football, not too many really care alot about basketball at USC...
Had you said it was the football team, the posts would be piling up.

I'm not surprised either. It was obvious what was going on when Floyd was recruiting Mayo. Now the truth comes out. Pete Carroll probably hopes those NCAA investigators don't start sniffing around too much.

Good ole Pete isn't too clean either....they just haven't hit the evidence yet....I wonder if it's in the nice house Reggie Bush had while he played at USC? LOL!

USC will be fine.

The NCAA applies a two-part test in determining penalties.

First - Was the school a "traditional power"?

Second - Is the school Southern?

No yeses - no penalty.

One yes - slap on the wrist.

Two yeses - major sanctions.

Since USC was a good team in the 1970s, and thus a "tradional power" and not in the South, broadly defined, it will face no penalty.

Whatever happened with the investigation about Bush?

It is quietly ongoing. I think when it is all said and done Reggie will lose the trophy. (Just my opinion).

I walked past him having lunch on the Sunset Strip a few weeks ago and wanted to be a smart-ass and stop and say "Give the trophy back!" but thought better of it. He is quite a well-put-together-boy.

So would the second place person then get the trophy? Who was that anyway?

I just love the way you throw Calipari in there too. I haven't heard anything yet about him doing anything not within the rules and until I see it, I presume they are doing it the right way.
Well this ordeal with John Wall sounds exactly like what went on with Mayo. So I presume that whoever signs him is cheating.
