Uplink Activity Report - 8/20/2008 6:07pm - 531 changes

It is a headsup arrangement to get the legacy people to get on the ball and upgrade to MPEG4 equipment. The channels in the 6200s can be seen on legacy equipment, but the originals cannot. The conversion to MPEG4 has not happened, yet. But, it will soon. And of course, there will be complaints from those who will claim they didn't know. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

Clarification...

Eastern Arc sats include? 72.7 and ... ? on a 1000.4 or 1000.5 dish. Is the 61.5 still considered a wing dish? ...and if the EA subscriber wants Internationals will he still need a 500+ or 1000+ ? (2 dishes? 3 dishes with internationals on 118.75)? And a new "smart card".

1000.4 includes 61.5, 72.7 and 77 (the 3 sats which make up Eastern Arc). One might need a 118.7 dish for some Internationals.

Scott, you need a special smartcard to get eastern arc? Even on a 622 or 722? Can I not simply repoint to them (forgetting that the dish is different of course)

Damn ;0 That's no fun! ;0 I guess you don't get one of these until you let them know you have done a repoint. Those punks....!

I do have the Dish (just got it yesterday), but I do not have the smartcards necessary yet.
Don't wait, hook it up now so we will know what we can get without the new card. If you switch to the new card first, there's no way to tell the before and after. I've moved my dish three times because of the neighbor's trees and the sooner I can use Eastern Arc the better.

ok so if I have AT250 with HD and locals.... what's still on 110/119 that I can't get off EA birds? I get Buffalo locals HD and I think those are on 61.5 ... I'll have to look at the list again.
