My old Tivo box is on the outs and I'm thinking of going w/ the Dish HD DVR instead. I am a current Dish subscriber and when I chatted w/ a CSR yesterday they said I could upgrade for $50. I contacted them today to see what kind of receiver I would get. The new CSR said an upgrade like that didn't exist and quoted me $150 for the 622 and $20 for the 722. Does anyone know the actual promotion I could get and what receiver I should be wanting?

If you are a customer in good standing, the 722 should cost $125.00 installed. Try again.

Called and CSR said I could get a 622 for $100. Since I won't be using the second TV feed I won't need an install. What model should I be pushing for: 622, 722, or other?

I'm not sure what the different features are. Basically I'm just wanting something I can record in HD and have a dual tuner ability. I've seen some examples of being able to record 2 shows while watching a 3rd live. Is that standard or only on certain models?

The 622 and 722 are virtually identical devices, except that the 722 has a larger hard drive. The 622 can store up to 200 hours of SD and 30 hours of HD programming; the 722 can store up to 350 hours of SD and 55 hours of HD.

And if it is important to you, the 622 is silver and the 722 is black.

If you opened your account with a direct contact with Dish or from a local dealer, you may qualify for Dish'n it Up. The dealer or CSR will enter your account # along with a credit # in order to see what you will need to pay. Antenna up grade will also be quoted. Depending on what level you qualify for, will determine whether or not there will be a charge for install of receiver and/or dish. A 24 mo agreement will be required. Hope you enjoy your 622/722.

He's getting the DIU pricing.

They stated that the offer was only good through 7/31. Is this a pretty standard deal that they have often or do I need to jump on it by tomorrow?

Unbelievable...I just spoke w/ a CSR to upgrade to the DVR. Apparently she would only allow me to receive one if I replaced my 322 receiver instead of my current 211 HD receiver.

She said they've had too much trouble w/ installs going badly by customers. I'm not even hooking up a 2nd TV for the 622. It is merely replacing the 211 and giving me DVR capabilities. Has anyone else heard of anything like this?

Starz VOD has no movies and is locked

line drift on VIP 211
