Upgrading rx/Returning Old Equipment?

I am going to upgrade to the vip 211 and return the 811 defective receiver. A new 1000.x dish is to replace my superdish (105,110,119) and dp34.

Question, does the equipment returned need a Return Authorization via Dish Network, and packed by me and sent back?

Or does the installer tech take the equipment with him? Do they give you a receipt for the old returned equipment? Just do not need additional charges show up on credit card or surprises charges for non returned equipment.

What is the general guidelines dealing with the upgrade/excange of equipment?

Any comments on what I will be required to sign off on via the install documents? Swap for vip 211 for 811 is free as well as the swap out of the dish, provided that I go with the HD package of $20/month fee.

Thanks in Advance Bob

They send you a box from UPS, it comes with a prepaid label. Usually comes after about a week when you place the order to upgrade. Just drop it off or have UPS come and pick it up.

Just keep your tracking number and your good to go.

returning LNBs switches

Does the LNBs and dp34 also get a return Authorization from dish? I just don't want the installer to walk away with something I may be responsible for returning?

Thanks for the info on the receiver.

FYI...This just announced,,,,soon customers will not have to send back leased receivers when you do a DIU. The techs will be taking them. I can't remember when this starts but it is soon.

All that you have to return when you do a DIU is the leased receiver.
