I am upgrading from the old 18” round dish to a slimline SL3 SWM dish. The signal and location is great for the 18” dish and I have installed everything but no signal. My question is are both dishes pointed in the same direction with the same settings? I need to pretty much point in the same direction or I will run into trees blocking

What recvrs are you using ?
The SL3 SWM dish should be pointed at the 101 Sat.
Are you using a Power Inserter ?
Thats probably why your not getting any signal, but need to know what recvrs your trying to set up with this dish.

I have the H24-100 receiver, power inseter and SL3 slimline dish. I got 101 dialed in at 95% but I can’t get ESPN HD channels and a couple others. I have a narrow line of site between trees, why can’t I get the HD channels I listed? Any je

If your line of sight is that narrow you may not be able to see the 99 and 103 satellites. Have you used one of the siting apps to see what your los to the sats is?

Are you getting any signal on the 99 and 103 sats? If so, what are the numbers?

99(ca): 1-8 n/a, 9-16: 0-31, 17-24: 0-34 25-32 n/a
99(cb) 1-8: 30-46, 9-16: 24-45, 17-32 n/a
99(s) nothing
103(s) nothing
103(ca) 1-24: 75-80, 25-32 n/a
103(b) 1-16 80’s, 17-32 n/a

I hope that helps. I can clear trees to the east if that will help, does the slimline cover a wider area than the old round?

My best guess is your skew is off. Could be the elevation, too.

I haven’t checked that because if the current sat location doesn’t work it will be a major relocation.

If you can see the ss numbers while at the dish, or have someone look for you, try pushing slightly on the top and then the bottom of the dish and see what happens to the numbers. If they all go up from pushing in one direction then your elevation is off. Check youtube for a video on dithering the dish.

I did fine tune the elevation until 101 was 95% signal strength. Should I also fine tune the other sats? I think it might be the tilt?

Glad to help. Good luck, come back (tomorrow!) if you need more help. We have a few installers that post here. They will be better able to help you.
