Anyone know if it's true before I run some CAT5 to my receiver to find out...?

Did you get a software update recently? Do you have whole home dvr service?

Don't know and no don't have any DVRs.

It doesn't have a harddrive, so no, you wont get ondemand. That's just a generic screen. Sorry you got your hopes up.

Funny, my smart tv don't need a hard drive to stream stuff on demand. Nor does the h24 for dlna content. Directv prob could make it compatible if they wanted to as long as there is enough ram and processing power.
