UF's Urban Meyer Steps Down as Head Football Coach

At least Saban spoke up before some of our more retarded fans chimed in:p

Saban calls Meyer a 'great person as well as a great coach' | Tide Source - al.com

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Urban and his family at this time," Saban said. "He is a first class coach and the success he's had is unmatched in our profession, especially over the last five years at Florida.

"We hope he is able to regain his health and have the opportunity to coach again in the future. Urban Meyer is a great person as well as a great coach, and the game of college football is better with him as a part of it."

I was reading a Miami Hurricane forum a little while ago and every post claimed that Meyer was just afraid to face the Hurricanes so he is leaving coaching.

I honestly hope the guy is ok. He is one of the greatest coaches ever. All the guy did was win.

Miami isn't on the schedule until 2013. But, I'm sure that is the reason. Silly Canes.

So who's going to take his job, his brother Rural? :haha:haha:haha

The timing is curious too. If Florida had beaten Alabama I wonder if he would have stepped down now, after the BCS title game, or not at all??

Not everyone is built to handle the stress, or is not good enough at delagating tasks to their subordinates to be able to alleviate some of the pressure....

This just in: Urban Myer is NOT stepping down. (According to CBS).

He will just be taking an indefinite leave of absence.....

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4774134"]Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer will return after leave of absence - ESPN[/ame]

ESPN is saying that the offensive cordnator will take over and Meyer will resume when ready to return.

I hope Meyer takes care of himself. Hes given us 5 years, 2 national titles. and a BCS bowl.. Not to bad considering where we were before he got here.

Never mind!!

Not sure what is going on in Florida, but hope it continues. I'm sure there are several blue chippers out there rethinking their commitments.

I hope all those recruits come to their senses and pick the more stable college to go to........ THE Ohio State! The Vest is in good health and isn't going anywhere! :)

And could use some offensive firepower :up

Wonder how many DON'T go to the Ohio State University , because of the antiquated offense ?
