Two receiver hookup in an RV Motorhome

I have a Winegard Carryout antenna and I use a Dish VIP211K receiver. I have a TV in the living area and one in the bedroom. I know I will have to have an additional receiver for the bedroom TV. So my question is can I use the same input signal from the antenna for both TV's. I was told by one person that I could use a "power passing splitter" (I found out a regular splitter does not work). Will the power passing splitter work or is there another way to get a signal to the second TV. Will I just have to run an additional coax to the second TV. My goal is to be able to watch Dish programming on both TV's but not the same program.

Based on the manual for the Wineguard Carryout it has a pair of satellite coax outputs on the unit. You'll have to run another line from the other coax output that you aren't currently using to the bedroom receiver. You can't use a splitter to get programming to both receivers as satellite signals don't work that way.

First you have to understand that two receivers watching different channels will be limited to the channels being on the same satellite. There is only one LNBF in the Carryout which means one satellite at a time.

There are two coax connections so you can connect one coax to each receiver. The primary coax receiver will control which satellite the dish will point to.

There is not a multiswitch in the LNBF so a separator can't function.

I would suggest the Tailgater of course (Ask and Earn), but it only has one coax.

The OP already has the Carryout, why would he take a step back?

For two receivers I would recommend a ground tripod and a DPP 1000.2.

Not when two receivers are involved. Only one LNBF in the Tailgater, only one satellite at a time.

Too many believe the Tailgater is the answer for anything RVing and in truth, it is a rather poor solution for anyone who does a lot of RVing.

Only to adequately feed two receivers with independent channel viewing is with a ground tripod and a DPP1000 dish or an automatic roof dish like the Winegard Trav'ler.
