More cynically, I believe Dish is letting the early adopters PAY for the additional H3. No doubt, at some point down the line, they will provide a 2nd H3 at a far lower price, but why do it now when there are so many willing to PAY for whatever it takes. Of course, who knows how long it will be before Dish does provide the 2nd H3 at a nominal one-time price? But if people have the money, then bless them, and I wish them well and greatly appreciate any info they can share.

We tried that. He hooked the DPP44 switch back up and then connected port one to the Solo Hub and port two to the other Solo Hub and still wouldn't download. I think the issue is the 1000+ dish.

Thanks for letting us know about the firmware needed to be updated for the H3 to see the DPH42 switch. Ill be sure and get the firmware updated first on my second H3 that comes tomorrow. Ill have to hook it up and let it download while I am getting the switch ready to install.
I have two 30" dishes one on 119, and one on 129, and a Dish 500 with the "I" bracket on 110. I haven't got the two 30" ones up yet, but 110 on the Dish 500 with the I bracket has 80-85% quality. I get about 60% quality on 110 on the Dish 1000.2 with the DPH LNBF. Looking forward to getting this setup, a nice project. I actually enjoy putting all of this crap together Guess I am weird. Of course, I should have already knew that, a lot of us on here are. What "normal" person needs 32 tuners, LOL!

The jumper coax cable between both Solo Hubs has to be installed for everything to be able to see each other. Just tried removing it and the sharing did not work till the coax was re-installed. I will try the Duo Hub out another time when the wife is not home.

Are both of your H3's ethernet connected to your network? I think I read earlier that although not optimal, they could share through the ethernet connection. Mine are and without the jumper I am able to share recordings between H3's.

No, only one H3 is Cat5 connected. Everything is in MoCA mode. That's great yours works with Ethernet. I have Cat5 wall ports at all locations. Maybe will try it out sometime. I am dying to know if the Duo Hub will work or not. Can't wait to try it out.

Yes, that works but you are using your own network rather than the MoCA built in to the system.

I was wondering about that. Does anyone know the actual speeds both are capable of? I am using Powerline connections and the Powerline utility reports speeds of 350-550 Mbps. Assuming nothing else is using any significant bandwidth, and assuming the Powerline utility is anywhere near accurate, how does this compare to MoCA speeds. And assuming there is a difference (lots of assuming going on here), is it actually significant when it comes to viewing quality?

Which is exactly what I did to connect our 2 solo hubs coming from the DPH42 to the Hopper 3's.

The question is whether a duo hub will even work with the switch and 2 H3's as it is specified by DISH to work with the Hybrid LNB and 2 H1's, H2's and/or SuperJoeys. I haven't bothered to try one out.

I believe the ethernet on the H3 is only 100 Megabit. (Not gigabit)

Hate to tell you that you are wrong Scott but the ethernet on the H3 is gigabit.
