TVS Launching Free TV Streaming Service

The TVS Television Network, founded in 1960, said it is launching a free streaming service with 12 channels on www.watchyour.tv.

They have a Roku app in Roku's channelstore (so must be legit, at least for now), but they don't as of yet have a Firestick app, even though they claim to. It just doesn't exist.

I find their claim of "free premium USA TV channels" to be largely misleading. It suggests programming comparable to one of the name brand movie plexes.

The browser UX doesn't seem to give any information about what is playing or what might be coming.

I remember when Smithsonian promised a hundred hours a year for their one channel. It ended up being a little over 72 hours per year and it hasn't broadened much since.

Old guy mode on.

TVS, was a syndicator of sports back in the day before satellites, when you needed to pay significant $$ to AT&T to deliver content to local stations, and when 3 to 5 local stations was all there was. Eventually had several competitors including SPI and Mizlou. Died out in the wake of satellite distribution and the rise of ESPN and USA Network. Seems to have acquired most of the rights from its dead competitors.

This on the sports side seems to be a free version of the ESPN Classic channel.

It’s free.
