I live in the geographical center of Mexico. Most TV service via satallite is sold by individuals who pirate it from the states or Canada. They could cheat Bernie Madoff with their scams!!!

What I am asking is:

1. Can one purchase TV service in the states, bring down the equipment, aim the dish, and receive service in Mexico?

2. If number 1 is possible then what satallite tools will be necessary to correctly aim the dish?

3. What size dish will be required here in Central Mexico at 7,5000 feet above sea level?

Thanking you in advance for your advice.

Directv in Mexico

Hi. What are you trying to install Directv or Dishnetwork. You won't be able to pull it off with only one dish, for any of them you will need at least two dishes.

Good Luck

Maybe, but many do it.
As for getting it across the boarder, I see plenty of dishes on the Mexico side when I'm down there.
Many of them painted, many artists in Mexico !

If your good at it, pointing doesn't require any tools, other than a wrench and the recr's .

75,000 feet above sea level ? distance above sea level should have no bearing.

Q. do you see any other Directv dishes around the area ?
If so, go for it and give it a try, if not, I would guess that you are too far south to pick up the footprint.

Central mexico you will need a 2meetr solid dish or 10' cband mesh dish. You will need to make a custom bracket to pull in all sats you need as lnb spacing will be difrent then wht we use up hear. All your sat gear will probly run you 10-20$ for a simple signal meeter $30 for a ok fittings kit from lows that has conectors. As for your system radioshack stocks pre pay self install dishnetwork kits

Actually, this isn't as hard as it seems.

Since it is a breach of the TOS, if the OP is interested, PM me and I'll pass along what I've "heard".

PS: For the bashers, don't believe everything you read - the border can be a breeze.

75,000 above sea level? If that were the case, not getting Directv would be the least of your problems...
