Pete you really need some coffee before posting so early 
The transponder you gave him is a DC II, not DVB
Wouldn't he use AMC9 at 83 since its closer (I know he could use AMC2 which is at 85 but there is no active TP's there)
If he uses AMC3, use the following
11736 freq
V polarity
6104 symbol rate
That will get him in the ballpark and then he can fine tune from there.
If you use AMC9, there are data transponders at
12120
H
30000
12140
V
30000
that will work for aiming

coby, true south is 4-5 derees off where you're at. True south will be about 184-185 degrees on a compass. You need to have the system set-up for true south.
