Trouble Shooting Question

My Directv Receiver is only showing shows in 480p when my TV is capable of 1080i. When i hit the format button my only choices are 480pstretch, crop, and pillar box.

If it is a new setup go into the menu and reset the receiver. 720 and 1080 weren't selected.

Not sure which receiver you have but its problably something like this.

Menu - Help & Settings - Setup - HDTV - TV Resolutions

You can select which ones to use. You can also define if your screen is wide or standard using TV Ratio.

Yes, and Resolutions is on a tab at the top of the screen (kinda easy to miss.)

Thanks guys, the problem was on theactul receiver i had the resolution buton set on 480
