Trio Question

Before I buy the trio, I'd like to ask a couple of questions:
1) Can we view the recorded programs from the trio or do we need to hook it up to a PC first before we can view it?
2) If buy a separate dvd recorder - can I hook the recorder up to the trio and burn the movie directly into DVD from the trio/recorder connection itself? Thanks.

Well, I might be the only one here that has a Trio, so....

Yes, I can view recorded programs from the HD on the Trio.

If you have a PC, then just hooked the HD to the PC and edit the .TS files with a program such as VideoReDo and then use nero or other authoring programs to burn to dvd.

If all you want to do is record stuff, don't buy the Trio. Just get the Duo or the Visionsat IV200. The Trio adds the divx functionality which IMO is a very superb feature, but only worth it if you take the time to make divx (and many other format) files.
